🌟 Spanish Continuous Forms: Understanding Present Progressive Actions
En español, las acciones continuas en presente se llaman forma continua o forma progresiva. | In Spanish, the continuous actions in Present are called continuous form or progressive form.
📝 Introducción | Introduction
Las formas continuas son una de las perífrasis verbales (palabras unidas a un verbo para formar un solo sentido). Estas se refieren a acciones que están en progreso en el momento en que el hablante está narrando. Necesitan el verbo "estar" conjugado según el sujeto, más otro verbo terminado en "ando" o "endo", dependiendo de la naturaleza del verbo, sin importar si son regulares o irregulares.
The continuous forms are one of the verbal periphrasis (words joined to a verb in order to make one sense). They are based on those actions that are in progress by the time the speaker is narrating. They need the verb "estar" conjugated according to the subject, plus another verb ending in "ando", "endo", depending also on the nature of the verb, no matter if they are regular or irregular.
Algunos verbos cambian sus formas; "raíz" o "terminación", dependiendo de su naturaleza (forma regular o irregular).
Some verbs change their forms; "root", or "ending", depending on their nature (regular or irregular form).
